Frequently Asked Questions
ABOUT OUR CANDLES
Are your products natural?
Yes, all our candles are made using all-natural, plant-based coconut soy wax blend for both clean and long lasting burn.
Why use wooden wicks?
We love the aesthetics of our natural wooden wicks and the soft soothing crackling sound it creates while burning. We also find that wooden wicks maximize the scent distribution with the type of wax we use. Because we use natural coconut soy wax blend, our candles will not have an overwhelming scent throw as store-bought paraffin candles may have. Our candles are rather delicate and suitable for everyday use yet bold enough to leave nice trails of soothing aromas in medium sized rooms.
Why does my candle have a white crystalline layer or rough surface after-burn?
The occasional white crystalline coating on the side/top of the jar is called "frosting" and it is a totally normal occurrence with natural soy wax. This does not affect the quality or the performance of the candle’s burn or scent in anyway and also means your wax is 100% natural.
Frosting or irregular, bumpy surface between each burn is also an indication that we are using all-natural soy wax blend. Many store bought candles contain unnatural additives to achieve the creamy smooth tops, and although synthetic additives can be used to help prevent frosting, we opted to keep our candles free from unnatural ingredients!
How long do your candles burn for?
Our 10oz, wooden wicked candles burn for approximately 55-60 hours. Burning times are best achieved when candle care instructions are fully followed.
Why is black smoke coming out of my candle?
Make sure you trim the wick to 1/8 inch before each burn. Simply pinch off the burnt ends with your fingers. Do not burn your candle for longer than 4 hours as all candles will product black smoke when lit for a long period of time.
Why won’t my candle light? Why is the flame so weak?
This happens if you have trimmed your wick too short and the wax around the wood drowns out the flame. Don’t worry! Simply use a napkin to soak up the melted wax and you will see the flame growing stronger. If your candle is not lighting at all, scrape off some of the wax around the wood and light it again.
Are your fragrances phthalate free?
Yes, all the fragrance oils we use in candle production are free of phtalate, paraben, and ethically sourced.
Can the jar be repurposed?
Yes, refer to our Candle Care for tips on properly removing wax residue from the jar as well ways to repurpose the vessel.
How often are new scents/products released?
We are aiming to release 3-6 new scents to our line each year and 1-3 seasonal specials throughout the year. Follow us on social media and sign up for our newsletter on the homepage for sneak peaks at upcoming products.
MORE ABOUT OUR WAX
What kind of wax do you use?
We opted to go with coconut wax blended with soy wax because it is a renewable source, emits zero toxic and considered as one of the best and healthiest types of wax for candle production. Coconut wax is too soft to be used on its own, so we blend our wax with a natural soy wax produced domestically.
How is Coconut wax made?
Coconut wax is a colorless and odorless wax made from cold-pressed coconut meat and refined coconut oil that goes through a hydrogenation process to be transformed into a creamy white wax. Soy beans are husked and dried into flake form, then the oil is extracted from the flakes and hydrogenated. the process of hydrogenation that allows it be solid at room temperature.

DECORATIVE CANDLES
What kind of wax do you use?
We use soy wax blend for decor candles as coconut wax is often too soft to be used without containers.
Are decor candles scented? Can we burn them?
They are slightly scented but not meant to fill your rooms like our standard jar candles. Due to the irregular shapes and sizes, the burn time will vary. We recommend keeping the candle for decorative use.
Do decor candles frost?
Like our standard jar candles, decor candles may also frost over time (creating a white crystalline layer) which is a natural occurrence with pure soy wax. Frosting does not affect the burning or scent performance of your candles. Frosting is an indication that we are using 100% natural soy wax and although synthetic additives can be used to help prevent frosting, we consciously chose to keep our candles free from any unnatural ingredients.
